After reading Drew’s post on PETA, it remind me how much I dislike the group. Instead of doing what they say and trying to improve animals lives, they are paying millions of dollars to have has-been actors and actresses pose half naked in their ads. I don’t know about you, but personally, I find this to be a complete scam. Just because an organization can afford these people, it doesn’t mean that they are a quality organization.
When I think about groups like PETA, I usually think of extreme, far lefts who actually have no idea that sometimes performing tests on animals is the only way to find cures for diseases and other things. They also have no idea that while having pets may seem like slavery to them, a pet can perform miracles for people. Many hospitals often utilize the healing power of animals with people who are very sick as a way to brighten their spirits because it’s a known fact that happy people often recover quicker and more thoroughly than depressed people.
What PETA needs to do is to go out into the real world and experience animals like everyone else does. People everywhere love animals. They are our companions and our friends. They are a huge source of food for us, so we cherish them for that aspect. Animals allow us to have a source of entertainment as well i.e. horse racing, bird watching, dog competitions. The many uses humans get from animals are too necessary to our daily lives that we can’t possibly be dumb enough to let our animal friends go to waste. So I say to PETA, reduce your actions because you are doing more harm than good and causing much unrest among those of us who actually love these animals you are trying to take away from us.
