I think Jennifer brings up a very ironic situation. Wrangler, who as Jennifer has stated, promotes reliability and strength, with a motto of “You can count on Wrangler.” Now my question to Wrangler is this, “What in your right mind makes you think Benedict Brett is reliable or that anyone can count on him?” I mean sure he’s a three time NFL MVP and brought the Packers home the Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl XXXI.
But that’s all besides the point! Good ole Brett decided to retire after the 2007 season, having led the Packers to the NFC Championship game. And so Packer fans and the NFL were forced to move on without… Just kidding! Good ole “reliable” Brett pulled a fast one on the Packers and demanded his spot back! Not having any of his drama, the Packers traded him away to the New York Jets. So after a mediocre season with the Jets, Brett retired again to stay at home and fish all day long… Oh my! Another joke! Can’t-make-up-his-mind Favre decided to give football another chance! This time he signed with his long time rival, http://blog.limerickpost.ie/sport/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/2690700258_69ab64bc7d.jpg. Now being a Packer fan from birth, I absolutely despise the Viqueens. Thinking Favre had done just about all he could by playing football for another team, he went and signed with our nemesis.
Now tell me, Wrangler, how many customers in Packerland do you think you lost by continuing to sponsor this poor specimen of reliability? I think maybe you PR crew might just need to get a reality check and realize that even though their jeans are great, Favre is clearly a very poor choice to back up your motto of “You can count on Wrangler,” because Favre is clearly not someone who you can count on.

Post 3: "Real" food vs. "fake" food
When I think of processed, fake food, the first one that comes to mind is Kraft Singles cheese. You know, the little orange, individually wrapped floppy… stuff I would call it! It’s clearly not cheese. First off, real cheese is bought in big bricks in order to fulfill the need of any cheese user. Next, real cheese is smooth and it doesn’t snap in half like the fake stuff does. Another thing is that the stuff never molds! I mean, sure, this may seem like a plus, but that just lets me know that the fake stuff is so full of preservatives that there can’t possibly by any room for any of that smooth, milk-formed cheese I grew up with as a kid. It doesn’t taste the same either. The fake stuff is too, sharp is the word that comes to mind, and real cheese is smooth and almost creamy.
What I get a kick out of now days though, is how the processed stuff now comes with extra calcium! Woohoo! If the yellow piece of what-ever-you-want-to-call-it were real cheese, it would be made from MILK, which is a grand supplier of calcium. I just don’t understand why these producers of this stuff don’t realize this and get back to the basics of cheese, which is milk at its purest.
I had to make the switch to the fake form of cheese due to the fact that it’s just cheaper, and that’s about the only reason. Since milk prices have gone up, it’s only expected that cheese prices go up as well.
If I could make the switch back to real cheese, I would thoroughly enjoy it. You just get a better feeling on the inside knowing that what you’re eating is real and that you helped out some farmer somewhere by buying his milk product in the form of pure, heavenly cheese.

LSC 100 Demonstration Speech Evaluation
In my demonstration speech, I chose to demonstrate how to shoot a proper basketball jump shot. I found the topic to be relevant because Wisconsin has a very good basketball program and many of the students here love the game, but may not know the finer points to one of the hardest things to do in sports, shot a jumper. I demonstrated how to do all of this by showing how everything starts from the ground up, and how the steps follow this sequence as well. The first step was setting your feet. Next, was to have a good bend in your legs. Then, having a solid core. After that, I showed how the shoulders were used in connection to the arms. Next, proper head position was followed by the follow through.
Because basketball is a sport that I have a deep love for, I felt that my enthusiasm was quite apparent and was not lacking in any way. My volume was at an appropriate range for the atmosphere. My eye contact was very good, however, I used too much body movement when I was giving my speech, which might have taken away from what I was saying by distracting the audience.
My visual aid was a basketball and I’m pretty sure it was the best aid available to me so it was quite acceptable.
If I were to do this speech over again, I would definitely pick a basketball shot again because I love playing basketball and sharing my knowledge of the game to all. If I were to change something, I would make my movements more sharp and controlled and slow my talking down at least double what I was at. If I were to add one thing to my speech, it would be to give it in a gym so as to show how a proper jump shot should look like.

Response to Drew's PETA Post
After reading Drew’s post on PETA, it remind me how much I dislike the group. Instead of doing what they say and trying to improve animals lives, they are paying millions of dollars to have has-been actors and actresses pose half naked in their ads. I don’t know about you, but personally, I find this to be a complete scam. Just because an organization can afford these people, it doesn’t mean that they are a quality organization.
When I think about groups like PETA, I usually think of extreme, far lefts who actually have no idea that sometimes performing tests on animals is the only way to find cures for diseases and other things. They also have no idea that while having pets may seem like slavery to them, a pet can perform miracles for people. Many hospitals often utilize the healing power of animals with people who are very sick as a way to brighten their spirits because it’s a known fact that happy people often recover quicker and more thoroughly than depressed people.
What PETA needs to do is to go out into the real world and experience animals like everyone else does. People everywhere love animals. They are our companions and our friends. They are a huge source of food for us, so we cherish them for that aspect. Animals allow us to have a source of entertainment as well i.e. horse racing, bird watching, dog competitions. The many uses humans get from animals are too necessary to our daily lives that we can’t possibly be dumb enough to let our animal friends go to waste. So I say to PETA, reduce your actions because you are doing more harm than good and causing much unrest among those of us who actually love these animals you are trying to take away from us.

Post 2: Prepare a meal
Last night, my roommate and I made a wonderful three course meal consisting of baked ziti, two types of spaghetti and a dessert of brownies, and shared it with a few of our friends. Just the process of making oneself a home-cooked meal is fulfilling in its own, but when you can finally eat this wonderful concoction, it’s simply magical.
The first step to making a dinner is, obviously, buying the materials needed. When I did this I had to basically set aside and afternoon and force myself to go and buy everything I might need. Once I did this though, it took quite a while to find the motivation to get our kitchen key and go make this dinner. This, for me, was the hard part; once I got done to the kitchen and starting preparing everything, things went very smoothly. Since the spaghetti was my dish, I’ll describe just the steps for making that.
The first thing I did was get two pots for making the noodles and sauce. I put some water in one pot and boiled it for the noodles and in the other I poured the sauce in to heat it up. While this was happening I cut up some garlic to throw in the sauce. Once the water was boiling, I put the noodles in and cooked them until they were soft. I then mixed the noodles and sauce and voila! The spaghetti was done! We took all our food to the table and when we finally ate it, I had a great feeling knowing that I had made this meal and that it was much healthier than the stuff they serve at Frank’s!
I agree with Pollan’s claims about the damaging innovations in foods. It’s hard to have a healthy whole food meal these days and that, I must say, is a little discouraging.
